Minister Grant’s father beaten and robbed

Police-1Freedom Fm has been reliably informed of an incident on Wednesday morning which left Warrington Grant, father of Tourism Minister the Hon. Lindsay Grant, hospitalized. Mr Grant was severely beaten during an apparent robbery at his Sir Gillies Estate home in Sandy Point.

Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David has confirmed , that around 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, two masked men entered Grant’s home, attacked and beat the senior citizen.The men left with a quantity of items and an undisclosed sum of money.

Sources have revealed that the two bandits entered Grant’s home through an unlocked door.

Grant’s home, with which he shares with his wife, is located on his farm – Springfield Egg Farm – upon which he has many dogs. It has been reported that shortly before the bandits entered his home, the dogs started barking but neither he nor his wife had sensed that something was amiss because the animals normally behave in that manner.

Grant was transported to the Joseph N France General Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and is currently warded.

The Police PRO said that the matter is being investigated and they are asking members of the public, who may have information leading to the arrest, charge and subsequent conviction of the perpetrators, to call “the Violent Crime Unit at 467-1886, 467-1887, 662-9336, the nearest police station, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477(TIPS).
