A young man who was held in the USA for alleged sexual assault and molestation of juveniles was on Saturday picked up on Fort Street and is in police custody in relation to a report of a man trying to lure a school boy into an isolated area. Moments before his arrest, he visited the studios of Freedom Fm trying to secure a radio slot to feature his CD and work “as a pastor”.
Superintendent Diane Mills Head of the Criminal Investigations Department confirmed that a ‘Person of Interest’ is in custody in relation to a report of a man attempting to guide a schoolboy into a field by asking for assistance in carrying to some heavy bags. The incident took place in the vicinity of the Seventh Day Adventist School in Ponds Site.
Freedom Fm also received reports from a concerned parent on Saturday in relation to the same individual who the parent claimed approached her child asking the child to accompany him to the Factory Social Center.
