Michael “Mickey” Davis of McKnight/Newtown has been formally charged for the murder of 85-year-old Elva York. He was charged on October 24, 2019.
Earlier this month police had issued a wanted persons bulletin for 29-year-old Davis saying he was wanted in relation to a series of break-ins.
He was apprehended in the Saddlers area on October 22.
The body of Miss York was discovered in her home in Bourryeaux on June 17. An autopsy later revealed that death was a result of asphyxia due to manual strangulation.
