SKNTTA Youth Development Camp

The St. Kitts-Nevis Table Tennis Association (SKNTTA) Junior Table Tennis Challenge Weekends, offers aspiring Junior players (age 7 to 17 years old) a chance to live, eat and breathe table tennis every weekend (Fridays at 6.00pm and Saturdays at 9.00am) for the month of April, starting on Friday 10th April 2015 at the St Peters Community Centre.

Participants will receive over 18 hours of tennis training and fun filled activities under the supervision of ITTF certified coaches.

Cost: EC$10.00 per child, per weekend. The fee includes participation in Youth TT Tourneys, 15 hours of introductory table tennis coaching instructions under the guidance of an SKNTTA Coaching Staff, ITTF Level 1 Certified.

Duration: Fridays from 6.00pm – 8.00pm and Saturdays 9.00a.m – 1.00 pm.

TT Training Outline:
• Forehand drive and Backhand drive
• Footwork; Beginning serves
• Pushing; Advanced serves
• FH loop vs. backspin; Blocking
• BH attack (looping & hitting vs. backspin)
• Smashing; Return of Serve
• Participate in the Weekly Challenge Trophy for the U13, U15 and U17 Categories on Saturdays (11.00am – 1pm).

On Saturday 25th April, 2015 participants will compete in our National Youth Tournament (U11, U13, U15 and U17) and eligible for selection to the SKNTTA National Training Centre, under the Talent Identification Project.

The SKNTTA is driven by the mandate to become a vehicle for youth development through sports in the Federation. As such, we accept the task to create roadmaps to steer the youth away from a life of crime, violence and gangs thus enabling them to become well-rounded citizens.
