Shooting Incident In Buckley’s Leaves Three Injured; Police Make More Drugs Arrests

Security forces say that their efforts to eradicate illegal drugs from the streets continue to bring positive results.

The latest success came on Monday when members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Special Services Unit (SSU) seized a large quantity of marijuana during the execution of search warrants in the McKnight area.

Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for crime, Ian Queeley said the drugs were found on properties at Prickley Pear Alley and Shaw Avenue.

Troy Francis was arrested in connection with the find at Prickly Pear Alley. That find included a black ski mask and a realistic looking toy handgun. Ronrick Herbert was taken into custody in relation to the Shaw Avenue find.

Meanwhile The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is currently investigating a shooting that occurred at Buckley’s Estate, Sunday (October 11th), which resulted in three (3) persons being injured.

Injured are Mr. Devon Jeffers aka “Cocksman” 37 years of Trafalgar Village, Mr. Rodney Clarke aka “Star Boy” 30 years of Greenlands and Mr. Valentine Benjamin aka “Zebra” 46 years, of Buckley’s Estate. All were reportedly shot by an unknown assailant.Investigations revealed that while all three (3) men were engaged in a card game, the unknown assailant appeared and opened fire.

Clarke received gunshot injuries to the right side of his hip, Jeffers received gunshot injuries to his left hand and his right foot, while Benjamin received gun shot injuries to his lower right leg.

ACP Queeley confirmed to this media house that the shooting incident took place at Buckley’s Estate at about 10:15pm.

He said investigations are ongoing.
