police_updateBasseterre, St. Kitts, October 11, 2016, (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period -6-10 th October.

ARREST AND BAIL:
Arrested: Bruce Rogers of Sandy Point was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for unlawfully and maliciously Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm.

Arrested: Eric Thompson of Pond’s Pasture was arrested, formally charged and for Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply and Unlawfully Conveying Portions of Cannabis into Her Majesty’s Prison.

Arrested: Moses Paul of Cayon Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Driving without a License and Driving when not covered by Insurance, Bailed: Moses Paul was granted bail in the sum of $3,000.00 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on October 20th 2016.

Arrested: Oemeka Chimdindu of Bird Rock was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for Permitting someone to drive his vehicle when he was not the holder of a driver’s license neither was he covered by Insurance, Bailed: Oemeka Chimdindu was granted bail in the sum of $3,000.00 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on October 20th 2016.

OTHER ACTIVITY:
Burglary: Police is investigating a report of Burglary in Newton Ground. The scene was processed by Crime Scene Unit. The investigation continues.

Armed Robbery: Police is investigating and armed robbery that occurred on Friday 7th October 2016 at Fraites Bakery located at Lower Bourryeaux. Investigation continues.

Illegal Firearm Found: A Police Officer on patrol on Pitcairn Street, Newtown discovered an illegal firearm. The illegal firearm was seized by the Police. The seizure brings to twenty-five the number of illegal firearms seized in 2016.

Searches of Abandoned Properties: Police continues to execute searches of abandoned properties. During the period of this report, six (6) Abandoned buildings, three (3) Ghauts, seven (7) empty plots of land were searched in Rawlins Village in Gingerland area for Controlled Drugs, Arms, Ammunition and implements used in the commission of crimes.

Search Warrants Executed: Police executed a number of search warrants over the period of this report. The warrants were executed in the following areas Sandy Point, Dieppe Bay, St. Pauls, Lower Monkey hill, Main Road Cayon and Rawlins Village Nevis.

Traffic Accidents: There were two (2) accidents on the federation’s roadways (1) in St. Kitts and (1) in Nevis on October 6th 2016. There were four (4) accidents on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts on October 8th 2016. There were four (4) accidents on the federation’s roadways (2) in St. Kitts and (2) in Nevis on October 9th 2016. There were two (2) accidents on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts on October 10.

Citizen Safety: Police continue to conduct vehicle check points, stop and searches and searches of persons of interest. These activities are being done as efforts to rid our communities of illegal firearms, ammunition and illegal drugs and instruments that can be used to commit crimes.
