Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Honorable Shawn Richards called into Freedom Fm’s popular talk show “issues” on Thursday afternoon.

Deputy Prime Minister Richard commenting on the findings reported by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) regarding the evaluation of the indoor environmental quality concerns at the Basseterre High School highlighted the point that test were conducted after the school had been unoccupied for some time.

Richards rubbished claims made by some that all the reports of illness at the school had been politically motivated.

He revealed that the Government had not yet come to a decision on where students will be placed in September after school reopens but he assure that cabinet is working towards coming to that decision.

Meanwhile SKNLP Spokesman Austin Edinborough in a subsequent call slammed the Education Minister statements.

Edinborough said that he was of the view that Team Unity had abused the students of the BHS and that abuse continued throughout the call.

Edinborough said that he is of the reports of illnesses at the school were not legitimate as only 2% of students were affected the vast majority he says came from the homes of PAM supporters.
