What we see happening in this country is that the court has become totally politicized by Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris and the Team Unity Government, so says the Honorable Marcella Liburd, the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Member of Parliament for Constituency #2.
Speaking on Wednesdays edition of Issues Liburd said Dr Harris appointment of his sister Donna Harris as a magistrate, clearly shows that there is no separation of powers, where the court is to be separate and distinct from the Government and Cabinet of Ministers.
Liburd said Dr Harris who is the Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, has appointed one of his sisters as Magistrate and another as Registrar.
Liburd said it was nepotism at its highest and called on the legal, business and civil society to protest this assault on our legal system where Labour supporters would get no mercy in the desperation of justice.
