Freedom Fm received calls on Tuesday night from several Taxi drivers who claimed they were being denied the opportunity to vote at the annual meeting because they had not paid their annual fees.

The meeting was held at the CFBC Adult Education Unit next to the Red Cross building. One taxi driver known as ‘Talbo” told Freedom Fm on Wednesday that the last annual meeting was in 2015, and pointed out that attempts to become current and pay the fees, were being denied by the President of the Association David Flames Brandy.

Talbo then outlined a number of areas where the Associations constitution was being breached, including the date for the AGM, and rights of members. Talbo said that the elections held last night which saw Brandy returned as president was null and void and indicated that legal assistance was being sought to deal with this matter.

However President Brandy rebuffed the claims of Talbo. Speaking to Freedom Fm, Brandy said members had a chance to become current and that the elections were valid and done according to the constitution. Brandy said that elections were fair and democratic.
