Gunman killed during shootout with police, AK-47 rifle recovered

Police-1NASSAU, Bahamas, May 17, CMC – Police said they had recovered an AK-47 rifle as well as a Glock pistol following a shootout with four men that left one of them dead on Saturday.

A police statement said that two of the suspects had been held and the search as continuing for another.

According to the police, they received reports of gunshots in the Ford Fincastle and Mason Addition area and upon arrival, “four male suspects armed with firearms confronted the officers and opened fire on them.

“The officers returned fire striking one of the suspects fatally and recovered a Glock Pistol from him. Another suspect was arrested on the scene after the officers recovered an AK- 47 Assault Rifle that he dropped to the ground”.

The police said that two other suspects fled the scene on foot but one of them was captured after law enforcement officials gave chase.

The police did not give details as to the identity of the men.
