Dyer Charged For Driving Dangerously In Frigate Bay Accident

Kevin Dyer of Wingfield Road, Old Road was charged for the offence of Dangerous Driving on Monday, February 26.

He was the driver of Motor Bus P4608 that was involved in an accident in the Frigate Bay area on February 23. The bus is owned by Island Purified Water. Circumstances are that Dyer was travelling from Frigate Bay towards Basseterre and Motor Taxi TA22, which is owned and was driven by Agatha Adams of St. Peters, was travelling in the opposite direction. Some distance before reaching the second roundabout when heading towards Basseterre, Dyer attempted to overtake when a collision occurred with the right side of the taxi that had several passengers inside.

Members of the Emergency Medical Service and the St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Service were summoned to the scene and a number of persons, including both drivers, were transported to the J.N.F. Hospital and treated for minor injuries. Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
