HandcuffsST ANDREW, Jamaica — The police in St Andrew say two persons are now in custody following the seizure of two illegal firearms and several rounds of ammunition during an operation in Sherlock Crescent, Duhaney Park, on Saturday.

Their identities are, however, being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports are that about 3:10 am, the operation led the lawmen to a dance when one Browning 9mm pistol with a magazine containing fifteen 9mm cartridges was retrieved from a pot of soup.

One female was taken into custody in relation to that incident. About five minutes later, at the same venue, a man who aroused the suspicion of the police was accosted and searched and one Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol containing 10 9mm rounds of ammunition was taken from him. He was subsequently taken into custody.
