Well known criminal attorney and former PAM candidate Chesley Hamilton is dismissing claims made by Opposition Senator Nigel Carty that the DPP may have been dismissed to create a position for him.

On Wednesday’s edition of Freedom Fm’s “Issues”, Senator Carty alleged that the Attorney General, Hon Vincent Juicy Byron, went to the office of the DPP and advised him to resign immediately else he would face dismissal.

Carty read section 65 of the constitution to underscore the point that the office of the DPP is very important and very powerful.

Carty charged that the Government’s motive for dismissing the present DPP many be to install someone with a political background that is in favour of the Team Unity Government.

As a caller to the program Chesley Hamilton called on Senator Carty to retract his statement.

Hamilton, a criminal defense attorney, said that his practise is dependent on trust.

Speaking of Trinidadian Dana Seetahal who was murdered on May 4, 2014 at 12.05am, Seetahal was assassinated while driving her SUV in Port of Spain, Trinidad; Hamilton pointed out that comments by Carty may put his life in jeopardy.

Speaking directly to senator Carty, Hamilton issued a warning to be careful what he asked for.
