Schools Won’t Open on Wednesday Given Threat of Hurricane Irma

Freedom Fm has been officially informed from the Minstry of Education that there is no school for students this week until further notice.

Freedom Fm spoke with Education Minister Shawn Richards on Sunday night, who informed that public and private schools were scheduled to be opened in St Kitts and Nevis on Wednesday 6th September, and that this would now NOT happen given the pending threat of Hurricane Irma.

Concerned parents were calling Freefom Fm all weekend to find out if schools were opening this week . Richards said schools would remain closed for students until further notice

However, teachers and staff members are asked to report to their various schools to help secure documents and equipment.
