Nationals of SKN urged to support the Haiti Relief efforts

Haitiflag-1“The Chamber of Industry and Commerce is coordinating relief supplies for our brothers and sisters in Haiti. Businesses, organizations and/or individuals wishing to participate in this relief effort can contact the Chamber at its headquarters at Fortlands.

The Chamber has indicated that emphasis is on clothing, items for babies and elderly, canned items, toiletries and sanitary items, and bedding Freedom fm spoke to the executive director of the Chamber Ms Brenda John who said the situation in Haiti is devastating and required urgent attention. She said persons wishing to contribute to the relief efforts should contact the chamber immediately as the shipment to Haiti would leave St Kitts this weekend.

Freedom Fm also spoke to Maurice Widdowson of Island Hopper who said nationals can drop off items until Wednesday this week for delivery to Hobson Enterprises for shipping.

Meanwhile the President of the ST kitts-Nevis red Cross Society, Spencer Howell has issued a statement concerning relief efforts for Haiti in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.
