CMO says it’s possible that ZIKA is in SKN

Chief Medical Officer, Dr Cameron Wilkinson told Freedom Fm News desk on Tuesday, that although there are no confirmed cases of the ZIKA virus an infection, he would not be surprised if ZIKA was present on the island.

Dr Wilkinson urged citizens to exercise care and protection by doing away with the known breeding areas of the mosquito, in order to prevent the spread of ZIKA.

The Chief Medical Officer further acknowledged that the ZIKA virus had reached the Caribbean and Florida and given the fact that there are confirmed cases in Antigua, Puerto Rico and other neighboring island, he advised nationals not to panic.

Dr Wilkinson pointed out that because of our geographic locations; it is possible that ZIKA could very well be in St. Kitts-Nevis.
