Freedom Fm Newsdesk has just received unconfirmed reports of a Murder in Nevis.
Reports are that 16 year old Ozani Maynard from Hanley’s Road Gingerland was shot dead in a hail of gunfire in Rawlins Village Nevis at about 8 pm Tuesday night.
Fréedom Fm understands that the police canvassed the scene and conducted investigations into this murder.
We also understand that the community is in shock and horror with this latest killing. Freedom Fm offers sincere condolences to the family and friends at this time of grief.
This now takes the murder total to 24 for 2016 in the federation and comes on the heels of an announcement by Prime Minister Harris during his Independence address on Monday that the Regional Security Forces (RSS) are in St.Kitts and Nevis to deal with the spiraling crime rate, in particular gun related crimes and homicides.
